Music Industry War on Consumers:
Music for All Occasions?

Downloading music has become so routine that few people need assistance in how to transfer music files to their computers.

However, there does seem to be considerable angst developing about being able to use files that are downloaded. Many of the protections that now are embedded in the music files appear to severely restrict use by the person that has legitimately purchased the file from a reputable service.

A number of people have remarked that they would rather purchase CDs and rip the files from the CDs because they avoid the "use nuisance" placed in music files from on-line services such as Apple's Music Store.

We probably have not heard the last of this war by the music industry on Internet users worldwide.
